From birth to death there are so many questions to each and everybody.

After the delivery of a child, the first question raised is whether it is a male child or female child.

The next questions will be about the activities of the child about eating, sleeping, sitting, standing, walking, talking etc.

The next question will be about the education of the children.

The next question after completion of the education of the children will be about the employment, earnings and status.

Finally the question that arises will be about the marriage or wedding ceremony of the child or children.

The parents of the child or children would have been very happy to answer the above questions without any hesitation. When the question about the marriage is raised to the parents, the parents will be in a difficult position if the marriages were not performed at a particular age and they feel very unhappy and hesitate to hear the questions.

For females the proper age for marriage is 18 and for males the proper age for marriage is 21. When the girls attains the age of above 18 the parents starts marriage process and seeking for bridegrooms. Similarly when the boys attains the age of above 21 the parents start the marriage process and seek for grooms. In some cases boys will say I want to stand on my own legs and hence I will marry only after my financial position is sound enough to my expectation. Whatever the case may be the parents of the children want to see the marriages of their sons and daughters at a particular age and also wish to have grand sons and grand daughters while they are alive and their efforts to perform the marriages of their sons and daughters are very eager and effective at the time of starting the marriage process.

First, the parents, takes the horoscopes of their child or children to an astrologer and the astrologer predicts the period within which the marriages has to be performed or in some cases to postpone the marriage process for some reasons with explanations and hence marriage process postponed for certain period. According to the astrologer’s prediction and advice, the parents start the marriage process of the female child at the age of 18 to 21 and for their male child at the age of 24 to 27.

If the marriages are completed within a short period of one year they will be very happy and very eager and very much interested in conducting marriage ceremony function with full of joy and happiness.

Unfortunately, the marriages were delayed in some cases due to some unavoidable or unexpected reasons. The effective steps taken by the parents are not fruitful but in vain and the marriages are delayed for some unknown reasons beyond their control.

Again and again, the parents take the horoscopes to the astrologers, and the astrologers directs the parents to go to some temples with the child and perform some special poojas and prayers on a particular day or particular days with periodic intervals at a particular time for early marriage without delay. In some cases the astrologer says time has come to perform marriage and there may not be further delay in performing the marriage.

Having the astrologer’s prediction and advice in mind deeply, the parents expects to see their son’s or daughter’s marriage function soon but the astrologer’s predictions goes wrong and still marriages are being delayed in many cases. There may be two reasons that the horoscope may be wrong or calculation of prediction of time in horoscope by the astrologer may be wrong. But without knowing the horoscope or astrology, how can the parents come to a conclusion about their son’s or daughter’s marriage?

In some cases there are no horoscopes available. In some cases the parents do not have faith in horoscopes and astrology. In some cases the parents do not believe the predictions by the astrologers.

There are so many remedies like going to particular temples on particular dates and days and performing particular special poojas and prayers at a particular time and so on. In some cases helping the poor people by way of feeding i.e. Anna Dhanam will also be done as directed by the Astrologers and elders. In some cases Homams or Yagams were performed for timely marriage. In some cases cloths are given free of cost as gift to poor people as Vasthra Dhanam. In some cases cows were given with bananas etc. In some cases Turmeric, Yellow Thread, Kumkum i.e. Sindur, Bangles, Yellow Blowse Bits were also given as gift. All the Poojas, Pariharams, Homams or Yagams and other directions given by the astrologers, elders, relatives, neighbors and friends and others are performed with full faith but they are not successful in so many cases and there are no symptoms of progress of marriage and hence the parents feel sorry and they are unhappy and even they weep in rooms when they are alone.

In such cases, the following pooja may be performed by the bride or bridegroom for whom marriage is delayed in the presence of their parents. Please forget all kinds of Dhoshas like Kalathra Dhosha, Sevvai Dhosha, Manglik Dhosha or Mangal Dhosha, Kal Sarpa Dhosha and also Vaasthu Dhosha etc.

Wipe your tears from your eyes and remove your negative thoughts from your mind. Please perform the following miraculous effective Special Pooja to the Supreme Power wholeheartedly with full of faith, happiness and co-operation of family members and well wishers. Certainly this Pooja will give positive thoughts and happiness in mind.

First, clean the pooja room and pooja performing place.

Secondly, put a Lotus Kolam i.e. Lotus Rangoli in front of the house i.e. at the main entrance. The Lotus flower petels side should be facing house and stem on road side.

This Lotus Rangoli Kolam will automatically create positive vibrations to invite the bride or bridegroom to the house.

Thirdly, put the 3 x 3 dots Kolam as drawn below in the same clock wise right direction and (not in left opposite direction) before the pooja performing place on the ground. This will remove all Dhoshas in the bride’s or bridegroom’s horoscopes and Vasthu Thoshas and also remove evil forces from the living place which are the main causes of delay in marriage function and will lead to early marriage.

Fourthly, take one wooden stool called Manai Palagai in Tamil or Kitchen Stool in English and place the same on the above Kolam.

Choose any available type of Manai Palagai in the home. On the top of the Manai Palagai, draw the following 5 x 5 kolam which is called Couple Gods Kolam.

On the top of the Manai Palagai place two Panchamuga Kuthu Vilakku one of smaller size and another of bigger size which denotes bride and bridegroom and decorate the Kuthu Vilakkus with flower garlands or flowers just like the marriage couples at the time of marriages.

Then put cotton thread for lighting the Kuthu Vilakku and add pure cow ghee. The cotton thread (thiri) should be placed face to face just like the couple sitting or standing face to face at the time of marriage ceremony while exchanging garlands. The parents or guardians should compulsorily accompany this pooja and the pooja must be performed only with bride or bridegroom to whom the marriage is delayed. [Only one thiri should be used for each Kuthu Vilakku (totally two) which faces East and West].

The big Kuthu Vilakku thiri (cotton thread) should face the eastern side and the small Kuthu Villakku thiri (cotton thread) should face western side just like the sitting position of bride and bride groom at the time of marriage ceremony.

The small Kuthu Vilakku thiri i.e. cotton thread facing West side should be lighted by the bride (Female) and bigger Kuthu Vilakku thiri i.e. cotton thread facing East side should be lighted by the bride’s parents either by mother or father or guardian.

Similarly, the big Kuthu Vilakku thiri i.e. cotton thread facing East side should be lighted by the bridegroom (Male) and small Kuthu Vilakku thiri i.e. cotton thread facing West side should be lighted by the bridegroom’s parents either by mother or father or guardian.

Lighting of Kuthu Vilakku by bride or bridegroom is a symbol of welcome to the life partner and lighting of Kuthu Vilakku by the parents is a symbol of welcome of their Son-in-Law or Daughter-in-Law to their home with Supreme Power’s Blessings.

This pooja has to be performed (only one day in the residence by bride or bridegroom with the parents or guardians jointly) with full faith on an Auspicious Subha Muhoortham day in between the new moon day and full moon day i.e. in Valarpirai Subha Muhoortham day only at 12.00 noon when both hands of the clock are at the same point. Preliminary arrangements should be made well in advance and the time schedule should be kept up without any deviation. The following dates are auspicious to perform the pooja in the year 2022

The marriage-delayed bride or bridegroom should take a candle or small Agal Vilakku i.e. a clay light. Light the Candle or Agal Vilakku i.e. clay light by the elder person in the family and give the same to the bride or bridegroom. The first Kuthu Vilakku should be lighted exactly at 12.00 Noon and then the parents should light the other opposite Kuthu Vilakku immediately. The Supreme Power which is beyond our imagination and expectation will come to the house immediately within a fraction of seconds as Deep Jothi or Jwala Jothi which is invisible to naked eyes and silently hear the prayers. Persons having Divine Power can realize the presence of Supreme Power at that time for about 15 to 30 minutes from 12.00 Noon to 12.30 P.M. on meditation or yoga.

Then the parents along with their child i.e. bride or bridegroom should perform pooja and sit before the lighted burning Kuthu Vilakku lights preferably on the floor without chairs or stools and redress their grievances only (without any mantras) and only pray for the timely marriage function of their son or daughter.

When people go to temples they take coconut, bananas and other pooja items for Archana. When the Supreme Power is coming to the home they can offer similar pooja items according to their financial position and there is no restriction but the offering pooja items should be performed by the parents only after 12.15 P.M. Very close blood relations having interests and well wishers may also be invited for such auspicious pooja occasion. (Financial request prayers should not be made).

If this pooja is performed in homes by the bride or bridegroom whose marriages are being delayed long time without unknown reasons and other factors along with their parents without the help from outsiders like Prohithars or Pujaris, marriages of the bride or bridegroom will be held within a short period of 48 days to 6 months.

On the first day, the pooja should be performed at 12.00 noon as stated above. From the next day onwards the bride or bridegroom or their parents or guardian can light both Kuthu Vilakkus and perform the pooja for 48 days at regular pooja time of their own as usual at the same place. At the time of periods for women, the relatives can perform the poojas continuously without any break, if the pooja room is a separate one.

While performing this special pooja to solve the problems for delay in marriages, the top portion of the Kuthu Vilakku on Manai Palagai will be visible as shown below

The parents may take steps to perform the above pooja only after ascertaining the inner-mind of their son or daughter about the arranged marriage by parents and if the sons and daughters are not ready for arranged marriage and having some other ideas, this pooja may not be successful to the expectations of the parents because this pooja has to be performed with full of faith in Supreme Power which is beyond our imagination, control and expectations with full co-operation.
